The Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation (SSF)

Founded in 1983 the SSF provides patients with practical information and coping strategies that minimize the effects of Sjögren's. In addition, the Foundation is the clearinghouse for medical information and is the recognized national advocate for Sjögren's.

American Optometric Association (AOA)

The American Optometric Association represents approximately 36,000 doctors of optometry, optometry students and paraoptometric assistants and technicians. Optometrists serve patients in nearly 6,500 communities across the country, and in 3,500 of those communities are the only eye doctors. Doctors of optometry provide two-thirds of all primary eye care in the United States.

National Eye Institute (NEI)

The National Eye Institute (NEI) was established by Congress in 1968 to protect and prolong the vision of the American people. As one of the Federal government's National Institutes of Health (NIH), the NEI conducts and supports research that helps prevent and treat eye diseases and other disorders of vision. Part of the NEI mission is to develop public and professional education programs that help prevent blindness, reduce visual impairment, and increase awareness of services and devices that are available for people with low vision.

American Academy of Optometry (AAOPT)

Since 1922, the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) has been enhancing excellence in optometric practice by fostering research and disseminating knowledge in vision science through the continuing education presented at its annual meeting. EyeCare America

Founded in 1985, EyeCare America is a public service foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Our mission is to reduce avoidable blindness and severe visual impairment by raising awareness about eye disease and care, providing free eye health educational materials and facilitating access to medical eye care.

In addition to our online educational materials, we offer eye care programs for which individuals may qualify. Callers will be asked a series of questions to determine the program that provides the most appropriate eye care services.

The Dry Eye Zone is a resource center for people with severe or chronic dry eye who are looking for relief and treatment of dry eye resulting from systemic diseases (Sjogrens, RA, lupus, cGVHD, Stevens Johnson, thyroid disease, Bell's palsy), eye conditions (meibomian gland disease, blepharitis, ocular rosacea, corneal dystrophies), elective surgeries (LASIK, PRK, blepharoplasty), eyelid conditions (lagophthalmos, ptosis) medically necessary surgeries, drug side effects (antihistamines, diuretics, beta blockers), eye injuries and burns, chemotherapy and radiation, aging, menopause, or any others of the many causes of dry eye.
